Homemade Easter Wreath

I'm joining up with Katherine over at Katherine's Corner as well as Beverly at How Sweet the Sound!

My favorite thing for this week would have to be a spring wreath I made.  All it took was a wooden wreath form, pastel-colored buttons, Modge Podge, a little glitter, ribbon, and a few sparkly flower stickers.

Here's the finished project:

So easy and inexpensive to make, yet so fun!

Have a great weekend!  If you feel inclined to follow me, I'd be thrilled.  I will follow you, also!  :)

Pink Saturday

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for Pink Saturday.

This will be short and sweet.  I wanted to share a picture of the rosebush we'll be planting in memory of our dog Sierra, who passed away this week.  It's appropriately named "Sierra Sunrise."

Have a beautiful weekend.

Thursday Favorite Things

Today I'm linking up with Katherine's Corner to share my favorite things for this week.

I'm in my late 40's, so skin care has become paramount to me.  There are so many products, but what I've been loving lately is first for cleansing Pond's Evening Soothe (with chamomile & white tea) cleansing towelettes.  They really feel wonderful and do a great job with cleansing.

For moisturizing, I'm loving L'Oreal Youth Code Day/Night/Eye creams.  My face has never felt so smooth and moisturized.

That's it for this week.  Please head over to Katherine's Corner and visit some other blogs!

Happy Thursday!

A Heavy Heart

Today we lost our sweet little three-legged dog, Sierra.  I don't know when my heart will heal from this.  She was with us for almost 16 years.  My children don't remember a time without her.  They bring us so much joy, but so much pain when they are gone.  RIP sweet Sierra.

Fun Nails for St. Paddy's Day!

This is not the best manicure I've ever given myself, but I was in a hurry.  It's just for fun, anyway.  I wanted to share because it's the only green I'm wearing and I got a kick out of all the glitter!

Have a fun St. Patrick's Day, everyone.  My corn beef, potatoes, and cabbage are cooking away in the crock pot.  Yum!

Pink Saturday: Edition St. Patrick's Day

Hello and thanks for visiting me!

I'm joining Beverly from How Sweet the Sound to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  Now, I'm not Irish myself, but I do like the traditional Irish foods my husband cooks on this day.  He is of Irish descent, so he thoroughly enjoys the day.

Here's a cute image to start off the holiday with.  If you have visited my blog before, you know how much I LOVE kitties!

Have a lovely weekend!

P.S.  If you could, please follow me.  I'll follow you in return.  I've been at 58 followers for several weeks now, and I'm getting discouraged.  Thank you SO much!

Pink Saturday: Cell Phone Covers

Happy Pink Saturday!  I'm joining up with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

I can't get over how many cell phone covers are available.  The variety is astounding.  Take a peek:

Which one would you choose??  I'm kind of partial to the Etch-A-Sketch cover (how cool!) but most likely I would choose a PINK one!

Have a wonderful weekend!

What's New in My Make Up Bag?

Sometimes I consider turning this into a make up blog.  That's how strong my addiction is.  I'm not going to do it, however, because there are so many interesting things to write about.  Instead, I'll do semi-regular posts about recent purchases, especially if they're ones I recommend.

My make up comes almost exclusively from the drugstore (Walgreens, Target, and WalMart).  I love the higher end lines, of course, but they usually come with pretty big price tags.  What I've been doing is reading blogs or watching YouTube videos that are done by other make up junkies who are kind enough to do reviews and comparisons of high end vs. drugstore lines.  Sometimes they even let the rest of us know about "dupes."  Dupes are less expensive products that are very similar to products by MAC, Bobbi Brown, etc.

These are all products I've purchases within the last month, and I recommend all of them.  These were purchased at either Walgreens or Target, and all were under $10.00.

Milani Mettalic Baked Eye Shadow in Rich Java.  This is great as an eyeliner...just wet the eyeliner brush to make it more vivid.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Orchid Hush

Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Shadow for green eyes (Note:  This is usually $10.50, but I found it on clearance at Target for $2.50.  Also, I don't have green eyes, but I thought this collection had the prettiest colors!)

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Ivory (Note:  Excellent foundation!  Companies like Rimmel and Wet 'N Wild have come a long way, in my opinion.)

Wet 'N Wild  Color Icon Brow Pencil in Taupe (Note:  If you're not sure about your eyebrow color, taupe works universally well for almost every shade.)

I think one of the best investments is good make up brushes.  They can really make a huge difference in application.  I never use the cheap little brushes that come with products.  A really good line of brushes that is nice to the pocketbook too is Eco Tools brushes.  This little set of Eco Tools Bamboo brushes for eye make up application is under $10.00.

That's it for now.  One tip I can pass along is to check Sunday circulars for sales.  Places like Walgreens often have "Buy One, Get One Half Off" sales.

Have a lovely week!

Pink Saturday: It's Been Forever!

I haven't done a post for two weeks.  First my job got in the way, then we went to Orlando for work/vacation, then I got a stomach bug.  I'm finally home for a few days and feeling a little better and can't wait to participate in Pink Saturday again!

We spent some time at Disney World.  Here are some pink images from  "The World."

It's great to be back among the posting!
