Stickles!

This was my first attempt at using stickles, and I like how it turned out.  I need to fix a couple of problem areas, but overall I'm pleased.  I'll be using this on a card in some way, I'm just not sure how yet.

Have a wonderful week!

A Royal Pink Saturday

I'm linking up with Beverly over at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday!  Yay!

I have always loved castles and anything royal.  I found these cute little painted canvases at Target, of all places. I think they're adorable!

Have a wonderful weekend!

4th of July Card

Here's my first 4th of July card.  I'm pretty proud of this one and I think I'm getting a little better.  I have a lousy camera, so excuse the poor quality of the photo.  You can click on it to make it bigger.  What do you think? :)

Oh, that face!!

How could Monday be a bad day when I have this adorable face to look at?

Her name is Rayna and she's a six-year-old orange tabby we adopted from the Humane Society almost six years ago.  She, along with the other felines in the house, brighten all of my days.

Can you see her tummy sticking down from her perch on top of the cat tree?

Roses

Here is the beautiful rose bush that I got for Mother's Day.  It's doing so well!

I hope all the dads, grandpas, and others who helped shape a child's life have a wonderful Father's Day!

Pink Greeting Card

Today I'm joining Beverly over at How Sweet the Sound for her traditional Pink Saturday!

This is a card I made for my daughter.  It's a "Welcome Home" card.  She loves Hello Kitty and the color pink!

Thanks for visiting me.  I'd love new followers and I will follow you, too!

Summer Pinks

I am a pink fanatic.  If something comes in pink, that's the color I'll invariably choose.  From sunglasses to sandals...

Here are a few cute, summery items I've found that would brighten up any pink lover's day!

Pink Argyle Beach Towel

Pink Wedge Sandals

Pink Citronella Candle

Ditzy Print Skirt (okay, this is technically black and pink, but isn't it adorable?)

Pink Rose Paper Lantern

Pink Lace Parasol

Scotland

My daughter is currently in Scotland and she's taken some great pictures that I want to share.

These were all taken in central Scotland.  The last one, "Elderly people", cracks me up!

So far the weather has been consistent.  Highs in the 50s and rain every day, pretty much all day.  Still, she is having a blast!  She has been to at least two castles so far, and she told me she climbed a mountain yesterday.

I'll post more pictures as I receive them.

Sunday Breakfast

I'm having just a simple little Sunday breakfast.

This is the type of breakfast I love.  Three or four little items to nibble on.

I'll be working on getting my craft room in order today.  What's on your agenda?

I hope you all  have a lovely, peaceful Sunday!

Adorable Wall Hanging

Just a quick post to show you the quilted wall hanging my daughter made me.  I love it!  The fabric is adorable!

Great work, Amy!!

A Bonnie American Lass in Scotland

My daughter is attending school in Scotland this summer in a study abroad program.

Here she is leaving on the first of three flights.

Here are some pictures taken around her school (without enough information to actually show where it is...privacy is important, ya know).

It's seems like a magical fairy tale locale when one is used to the Sonoran Desert!  I hope she'll have great fun, learn lots, and come home with a new worldly perspective on life.

The Living Room Makeover

We still have a lot to do, but we have finished the painting in the living room and hallway.  We decided to use Glidden's Water Chestnut on the walls and white on the trim, ceiling, doors and baseboards.  It's not a dramatic change, but I think it makes the room look much warmer.  Here are the before pictures.

Keep in mind that we are going to remove some more furniture, add new pillows, and put some new things on the wall, but here is the finished product. I don't have the decorating gene so I'm nervous about putting these pictures up, but I'm proud of what we've done so far.
