Fourth generation...

librarian!!! My son was just accepted into a master's program for library science.  This is one proud mama!  He is a wonderful, loving, smart son and I couldn't be happier for him.  He was accepted to three law schools as well, but he just didn't feel like that was the right path for him at this time, so I'm happy he's taking up the "family business"!

The places I'll go...

These are some of the places I'd like to be this week instead of work (or as I refer to it...that place that is slowly driving me to drink, to insanity, and to homicidal-tendencies.  Just kidding about that last bit...I think).

The English countryside

Paris

Hawaii

Savannah, GA

San Francisco

Disneyland

This is what my reality looks like instead

Well, I'll keep dreaming about vacation.  I hope everyone has a great day!

Beauty in the makeup

Like I've said in previous posts, this blog is a place for me to post the things I find to be beautiful, and makeup is beautiful in my mind.

Here are a few of the things on my wish list for fall:

L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipgloss in Dulce de Leche

OPI Ladies and Magenta-men

Benefit Her Name Was Glowla

Philosophy Unconditional Love Firming Body Emulsion

Smashbox Creme Eyeliner in Lava

MAC Powder Blush in Pinch Me

Those are just a few of the cosmetics I'd like to indulge in.  I am a serious makeup junkie.  You can find two of my fav makeup blogs (Spoiled Pretty & JennySue Makeup) in my list of links on the right hand side.  Have a great night!

My weekend

The best part of my weekend was this man:

(Darius Rucker, aka Hootie)

and this man:

Brad Paisley

but most especially this man:

He bought me this:

It looks much cuter in person but it's a little :::ahem::: tight around the middle.  It's now my new "goal" shirt and I WILL wear it and look good!

And let's not forget my yummy princess cake from IKEA (yes, it's really called princess cake, and yes I insisted on having some lol.  This may be the reason I can't fit into my Brad Paisley jersey!):

Then to make our weekend really diverse, we went to Sea Life Arizona, an aquarium in land-locked Phoenix, where I had my picture taken inside a bubble.  Looks like I'm frozen in a snow globe, doesn't it?

All in all it was a fabulous weekend.  Thank you to my sweet husband for taking me!  We don't get to do things like that nearly enough.

Have a fab Monday!

Brad Paisley - The World

We'll be watching this man live and in person tomorrow night.  My amazing husband, who doesn't even care for country music, is my date for the evening.  Here's a video of my favorite Brad Paisley song!

Enjoy...

My work week has been stressful, trying, and headache-inducing.  My brain is like jello by the time I get home, so I haven't spent much time on this blog.

I've been searching for some pretty, soothing images and I'm posting them here.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Well, this last item has nothing to do with the others.  It's just something I covet for my upcoming birthday. I think it's beautiful, in its own way hehe.

Thank you and have a fabulous Friday.  My darling husband and I are going to the Brad Paisley concert this weekend so I'll post something about that, I'm sure, with pictures.

Libraries

I'm a librarian, so I couldn't miss an opportunity to post this link.  Our libraries are in trouble, plain and simple.  Please read this if you love libraries, too.

Let's have a pink Monday instead of a blue Monday

I'm changing things up a bit here.  My favorite color of all time (except for the brief, unfortunate yellow period in 7th grade) is PINK!

Here's a bit of beauty to start this Monday with and it all happens to be PINK!

Have a happy Monday!  Ta Ta!

My first post and I've got the blues...

Hello!  Nice to see you!  My goal with this blog is to share some of the beautiful things I find when surfing the web.  I hope you enjoy the items I come across.  I love decorating, fashion, makeup, and traveling.  At some point I will also share pictures of recent redecorating that's taken place in my home.

About having the blues:  right now I'm sort of obsessed with robins egg blue, aqua, and turquoise items of all types.

I love, love these dishes from Martha Stewart for Wedgwood

This pillow from Anthropologie is too cute!

This Pottery Barn jewelry box would look so cute on my bathroom counter.

Hmm...how about some cute jewelry to put in that jewelry box?

Look at this unique costume art available on Etsy.

Don't these blue and pink cupcakes look delish!!??

Well this is my first attempt like I said.  I'll post more of my favorite beautiful finds as I can.

Ta Ta for now!

Focus...focus...focus...

I truly hope to have more focused posts one day.  My plan is to have a different specific topic each time.  Right now I'm still getting used to using blogger.com so these first few posts will be simplistic and a little scattered, but please add me to your blog lists and keep checking back.

Today I put up a list of blogs I visit on a regular basis.  They give me inspiration for various reasons and I hope you'll have a look at them.

Not only do I like the blues that I mentioned yesterday, but I'm a big fan of brown and pink paired together.

I recently purchased this tote bag to take my lunch and other items in to work:

Another recent purchase was this decorative pillow for the master bed.  I realize it's more beige than brown but it fit with our bedspread better LOL:

I also really like these pillows and may get them to go with the one above:

All of these items are from Overstock.com if you haven't noticed the trend hehe.  I love them for their fast, inexpensive shipping, and I've never been disappointed in any purchase I've made.  Plus, they have everything!!!

Now, if we're talking throw pillows, let's not forget rugs.  Isn't this a beautiful rug from Anthropologie?

That's all for today.  Happy Sunday!
